2, 2007 - First Friday featuring Heather L. Wells - Photographer |
| |
HEATHER L. WELLS. PHOTOGRAPHER:
This is how I live and feel, like cold water running over smooth
rock. The sun barely shines through the clouds, yet it still
touches me. The first two lines of Heather's poem set the mood
for her inspired photography. Her attraction to rivers, the
rhythms of color reflect the mood and create the foundations
of Heather's body of work. Heather's artist statement, in part,
reads "My photographs are the truest expressions of my
mind. They are created
through pleasure, pain and the raw experiences of emotions,
obsessions. love and lust. Stone Buddha is thrilled to present
this talented artist's work. Stone Buddha First Friday, May

6, 2007 - First Friday featuring John Labovits |
| |
Join us, please, for
World Culture Day at Stone Buddha. Our featured artist, John
Labovits traveled Japan in May, 2006, photographing contemporary
Japan, city and countryside. John blends Japan's curious mix
of modern and traditional. Tiny street gardens, cluttered shopfronts,
overflowing fish markets, wild neon cityscapes and small calm
Buddha altars each speak to this ancient spiritual culture.
In unique style, John hangs his work with mulberry paper and
mylar for a very unusual show. We also welcome Gordon Munro,
storytelling an Asian tale with drum in hand. As always, Tea
and fortune cookies within. |
